  3. Today, I share a song by the late Narendra Sharma Ji, a famous Hindi poet.

I have shared some of Narendra Sharma Ji’s compositions earlier as well.

Here is today’s song of the Late Narendra Sharma Ji-

I was not a stone all the time

    Exiled by some curse,

    My consciousness was lost;

The lamp of the temple of my heart was extinguished,

    My world became dark

My ruined garden was not a deserted wilderness all the time.

I was not a stone all the time.

There was the moon in my lonely sky,

    Whose image and shadow was the moonlight;

My moonlit body remained alive on touching it,

Like a potsherd in a dirty field, I was not lifeless then!

I was not a stone all the time!

    I too had someone, too

Once upon a time, it belonged to someone in life,

We were separated, but our fate did not go bad,

As long as the sweet memories remained in my mind,

But I never had any idea of what I would become!

I was not a stone all the time!

I am a flower from the garden,

    I was a necklace around someone’s neck;

That smile was mine, and his too,

I had become the laughing world,

Like a crushed flower mixed in the dust, I was not always a dead man!

I was not a stone all the time!

I was not helpless like grass,

If you put it in a tap, it will flow,

And if you put it in a fire,

It will fly away as momentary smoke,

Whatever I have become today, I was not the same all the time!

I was not a stone all the time!

    My name was Arunima

    On her lips,

    Youth used to dance,

On the sweet notes of my pick,

She had life in me, my song was not clayey!

I was not a stone all the time!

(Thanks. I would like to tell you one more thing: The poems, ghazals, sher, etc. that I share in my blog posts, I usually take them from ‘Kavitakosh’ or ‘Rekhta’, which are available online.)

    That’s all for today,

    Namaskar.🌻🌼🌻
